‘I love to see a young girl go out & grab the world by the lapels. Life’s a B****.
You’ve got to go out and kick A**. ‘
I think there’s no greater energy to be surrounded by than that of young women with an undeniable sense of drive to achieve whatever they set their minds to. I was invited to the Urban Decay event by such a young lady , Thithi Nteta, who I have admired for years. The invitation read that in honour of Womens month I should come by and celebrate it with other young ladies ,oh! and the Veuve would be on the house.
The event was intimate and consisted of other ladies in the blogging and entertainment field who are killing it and have potential to take the industry to new levels. As we all settled in and finally got comfortable, the host decided to make a speech which summed up the importance of female unity and girl power. I was particularly drawn to the sincerity of why she decided to gather us all together because lets face it we are in a world where women see each other as competition instead of a potential business connection. Her desire to unit us and make sure we celebrate ourselves and each other was a great ice breaker and soon there after the energy in the room was more comforting.
A part from overflowing champagne, laughs and over 600 make up items to browse through, we got treated to a classical ‘career woman make-up tutorial’ which highlighted the do’s and dont’s of everyday work make up. The fast and easy way to apply this look doesn’t require you to be a make up guru and helps you look presentable even if you were in a rush in the morning.
