The Significance of Rose Quartz

The Significance of Rose Quartz

I’ll be honest and start off by saying I haven’t always been the person that believes heavily in crystals and would often wonder what the purpose of meditation and chanting mantras of affirmation was all about. I guess it all started for me a few years ago when I read ‘Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert’ where I found myself completely enthralled by the idea of being able to meditate without compromising my beliefs in Christianity, I know what you are thinking, but back then I just didn’t fully understand that the two weren’t mutually exclusive. Coupled with emotional trauma of the situation I was facing at the time, it made room for a beautiful thing to grow in me, and that was the desire to actively protect my energy and space. If there is anything I center my day to day life trying to achieve it is that.

I may be a little biased here because rose gold and rose quartz are my favorite colors but a colleague of mine  , who I think is just heaven sent, has been some what of my spiritual teacher and guide on my journey to enlightenment( She is my Ketut Liyer). She has opened my eyes to the beauty and meaning behind crystals and living deeply rooted. When she gifted me with my  rose quartz, at first I was beaming with happiness because of how pretty it is, she quickly told me to google what it means. Me being me, I google everything so I was going to do that regardless. When I did my research , I almost melted away at how thoughtful the gesture was.

‘Rose Quartz symbolizes unconditional love , healing , peace and tenderness , basically it is the stone of everything self love .Belief in the power of rose quartz goes back to the beginning of civilization. Modern crystal healers turn to the pink gem to anchor feelings of love, attune the heart chakra, heighten self esteem, and even release excess fluids and impurities from the body. “Rose Quartz is a gentle crystal that aids in the ever important truth of unconditional love,” says Whitney Bell, art director of the luxe, gem-glimmering jewelry line, Jacqui Aiche. “Wear rose quartz as an anchoring gem, to keep your heart full and vision clear.”

Named by Pantone as the color of the year in 2016,  I still can’t get enough . Sprinkling the color in your day to day life is said to give  guaranteed sense of comfort. How can I say no to that!
