3 Things You Need To Know About Moringa

If there’s one thing I’m not so great at doing, it has to be remembering to take my vitamins. As someone with  Anemia (Iron Deficiency) I tend to need that extra boost of help I can get from vitamins to balance out my hormones. Some of the major side effects I deal with on a regular basis due to anemia is, easy  fatigue and loss of energy , insomnia , dizziness and pale skin ( just to name a few) . Doctors have recommended and given me an array of vitamins that I have to take but in between life happening , I tend to forget which back fires on me most of the time. Recently a friend of mine told me about Moringa and how it’s helped her sister tremendously and not only for anemia. True to my nature and curiosity I did my research and went out to purchase this supposed Magical Moringa the following week.

1.The Science

Moringa oleifera, also known as horseradish tree, ben tree, or drumstick tree, is a small tree from India, Pakistan, and Nepal that has been used for generations in Eastern countries. Moringa has become popular as a natural leaf powder supplement, although the pods, roots, bark, flowers, seeds, and fruits are also edible.

2.The Health Benefit

Moringa is used to treat and prevent diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, anemia, arthritis, liver disease, and respiratory, skin, and digestive disorders.

To break it down, Moringa has :

  • two times the amount of protein of yogurt
  • four times the amount of vitamin A as carrots
  • three times the amount of potassium as bananas
  • four times the amount of calcium as cows’ milk
  • seven times the amount of vitamin C as oranges

3. The Effects

Moringa comes in capsules , powdery form or straight from the plant itself, I was warned on the potent scent it has and it was suggested I take it in the form of a capsule. Since I started taking it two weeks ago, I have noticed an increase in energy , my moods are much better and the state of my skin has imporved from looking pale to having a slight healthy glow to it. Of course it’ll only be effective for as long as I continue to lead a healthy, balanced lifestyle in other areas of my life such as eating better and working out as often as I can. Overall , I’m happy with the results I’m noticing now . I bought these Moringa tablets at Dischem for about R150, they contain 90 capsules.
